I've been told those are the words people think of when they think about me, though I wonder some days how they miss the chaotic gremlin that is my true self! I mean, I crab walk around my house, hands held up like a LEGO figure, it's kinda hard to miss!

But anyhoo, off to what you're really here for, hi, I'm Onyx, my pronouns are She/Her, and I am a voice actor. Have been since 2020! The main things you might hear my voice in are audiobooks (What can I say, authors can't get enough of my volcanic flair ;) ), but I've also been in a few indie projects on YouTube and Itch.io.

I've had training under fantastic coaches such as, Brendan Hunter, Elley Ray, June Yoon, Kiba Walker, and many more (You can read about it on the Education page here!)

Now, let me sweet-talk you real quick. The day I realized voice over was something I could perhaps one day get into (Cause let's admit, how many of us really processed that as an option? It's a big part of our everyday lives, but how often do we think about the workers behind it!), I'll be honest it wasn't the life-changing moment of 'Oh my gosh this is my calling', but I certainly wanted to give it a try. So I tried. Tried and at first didn't get anywhere. And then I had what was essentially a call-back, and that, that was the life-changing moment. Because then the trying amped up, the wheels were spinning again and progress was being made, slowly, ever so slowly, but surely. And along the way I met a lot of people, a lot of whom still roam my brain rent-free. And a lot of people who made me who I am today. The woman you're reading about right now took a lot of time and hard-work to craft, and still has some work still needed, but it's knowing who I am today to know that my purpose is to bring a light to people, one that at one point in my life I desperately needed. I want to bring passion, love, laughter, and happiness into people's lives, and I also want to allow them a safe place to experience sadness, anger, disappointment, fear. These are all human emotions, and some days when it feels like all you are allowed to feel is one emotion, you turn to the passionately created projects out in the wild. The ones you can tell people spent hours upon hours making just right, and the ones that let you feel.

I want to help bring to life things like that. I want to share every emotion in the book, and open up the hearts of people along the way.
